These backgrounds can be static images or dynamic, animated images, and can be set by the user to personalize their desktop experience. The windows background is also sometimes referred to as the desktop background, wallpaper, or desktop picture.
Download a new background from the web
1. Open your favorite browser on your desktop, in this example, I use Microsoft Edge. Then go to the BING Search page (https://www.bing.com). The reason for using Bing Search for this task is because Bing can search on high-resolution images on the web.
2. Select images, and add a filter to the search query like this example.
3. Select your favorite high resolution image by clicking on it. Then right click on the image and select “Save Picture As”.
4. Navigate to a place on your computer where you can find the image and save it as an image (.jpg, .jpeg, .png, etc). In this example, I will use my Desktop.
Set new Background image Windows
You can change your background to your downloaded image in two ways:
1. The locate your previously downloaded image, right-click and select: “Set as desktop background”
2. Right-click somewhere on your desktop and click Personalize.
